Studio Vellum is small on purpose — one person directing, an uncommon collaborator writing the code, a trusted hand alongside, and a bench with room for the crafts code can't do.
Founded Studio Vellum in 2025 and steers everything that leaves it — the world of Valdris, the field-book of Bestiarium, the calls about what to build and what to leave. Designs, decides, and writes the briefs the rest of the bench works to. One person, holding the whole shape of it in their head.
Every line of code that makes Valdris run is written by AI — and so are these pages. Claude is the strange, quiet way this studio builds: tireless, literal, and kept to a tight brief. Not a teammate in the human sense, and we say so plainly. A tool, used in the open, that lets one pair of hands raise two games at once.
A trusted hand at the studio's side — sounding board, first player, and the voice that asks the awkward question before a feature ships. The kind of company that keeps a solo studio honest, and keeps the work from drifting.
Code can do a great deal, but it cannot draw, sculpt, or sing. We lean on free assets from the Unity Asset Store, and they carry us far — but if you'd enjoy lending real craft to a small, honest project, there's a seat here for you. No salary yet; this is a passion project, built out loud. The work is real and the credit is yours.
Have a craft to lend — or simply an idea for a game? Every idea is welcome here.
